Families and caregivers may go on a vacation, have medical issues themselves or a family emergency, work travel or other commitment. They need to know that their loved one is receiving mature, professional care. The staff at SPEC are equipped to act in the most appropriate manner necessary, especially if a medical emergency were to arise.
A benefit of having an in-house Hospice is the peace of mind knowing that our staff are available 24/7. There is no wait time for a response as there would be from an outside hospice who will often need to be called in an emergency or to talk with a hospice nurse or social worker. Our model puts the focus for the time remaining in the Hospice residents life, back into their hands. There is an focus that gives quality to whatever time is left for them. A Hospice resident should not have to wait for anything, and specifically not their Hospice team. By having their Hospice team on site and not miles away, spread out geographically on pre-determined schedules for care, the Sudbury Pines Hospice resident retains ‘control’ of their care.
Families and caregivers may go on a vacation, have medical issues themselves or a family emergency, work travel or other commitment. They need to know that their loved one is receiving safe, professional care. The staff at SPEC act in the best way needed, especially if a medical emergency were to arise.
We encourage you to consider our Respite Care Program when needed. SPEC is also contracted with BayPath Elder Services. We have been awarded a GRANT to provide limited Respite Care free of charge for families who receive services through BayPath or live in the local area serviced by Baypath.
