Narrative

The goal of our Shared Living Program is to offer a safe, secure, and enriching home setting in which the person with unique needs is empowered to develop relationships within the home and the community. The Shared Living provider works on a contract basis with Latham Centers. They are paid monthly. They get a generous stipend for their services and the needs of the person in their care.

Shared Living is a unique opportunity for singles, couples, or families who wish to open their homes and their hearts to an person with developmental disabilities (DD), age 22 or older. Latham’s Shared Living Providers make a real difference while earning an income.

In our Independent Living Program, our residents live in their own homes. They get supports in life management areas uniquely challenging to them. The goal of both programs is for our adult members to lead successful lives. They can  be independent, engaged members of the community while meeting their changing life needs.
