Narrative

Shared Living brings together a person, a couple, or a family in the community with a person with a disability (PwD). They share their lives in a real, loving, and respectful relationship of mutual dependence.

Shared living grows when there is mutual love and respect. The person served and caregiver are on equal footing. Each has responsibilities. They can both depend on each other. This is where each person has the space to live their best lives. They have opportunity, choice, and a voice. Nonotuck fosters this for the people we serve and their caregivers, We give support and oversight.

Shared living is an option to:

  • group homes
  • foster care
  • boarding
  • residential programs

Shared living is a long-term promise to make someone a part of a home and a community.
